Thanks Jerry. After all the researching and goofing around about this. I'm still convinced that this is the simplest and best way to go if you're only doing pipes and A/C. Map it, dyno it. Bike should run good for the 2 year probation period and decent if you remove it. Easy on, easy off. I don't think it should be any more complicated than that. And, you keep that 2 Year Warranty! What about that A/F module that Chief looked at? Jerry, any final thoughts? Anyone else. I think we have a crapload of lurkers waiting for the final outcome on this one. Thanks everybody!

As someone else noted, the Wideband Commander is NOT a self tuning ECM replacement like the T-Max or Daytona Twin-Tek.  It is strictly an A/F monitoring device which will tell you what your air-fuel ratio is.  You still have to have a SERT / PC / etc. so that you can adjust the fuel map manually.  Another consideration is that you have to add another bung to your pipes for the sensor (doesn't use the stock sensors or sensor locations).  If you're trying to maintain the "easily installed and removed" theme, this would not be my recommended solution.  Stick with the PC with eliminators and a good dyno tune.

If I'm understanding this correctly,  what Chief is doing is using this in lieu of doing a Dyno tune and splitting the cost with another person who will also be able to use it.  Seems like a reasonable option to accomplish the goal of tuning the PC if you don't want to go the Dyno route, and you'd have it for future tunes if you ever decided to change anything else.  Will be interesting to see how it all works!!
