Time to hop back on the bike and ride the Lighthouse Trail!  There is a reason why they call it by this name.  Lighthouses everywhere!

This one is located in Shelburne where I was originally going to stop for the evening.  However I made a revision to Liverpool for the evening.  The Sandy Point Light.

Day Six | Liverpool, Nova Scotia – Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia | 150 miles

I would continue the entire Lighthouse Trail route to Peggy’s Cove which is an excellent ride except for one little matter – Road conditions are poor at times.    :o

I conducted an interesting conversation with the captain of the ship.  Turns out he is a rider too with some interesting stories.    :2vrolijk_21:

Turns out I did not have any Canadian money and the ferry was $7 CD.

No worries there!  Captain laughed when I told him as I did not see the sign either.  Told me he made over $1,000 last year on the exchange he pocketed himself!

We arrived!  Lunenburg!  I parked across the street from this church and had to go inside!

This church was ALIVE and well according to the greeter!  I was pleased to hear this after my earlier encounter near Digby.    :)

Lunenburg is a port town on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 1753, the town was one of the first British attempts to settle Protestants in Nova Scotia.

The economy was traditionally based on the offshore fishery, and today Lunenburg is the site of Canada's largest secondary fish-processing plant. The town flourished in the late 1800s, and much of the historic architecture dates from that period.

The historic town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. UNESCO considers the site the best example of planned British colonial settlement in North America, having retained its original layout and appearance, including wooden architecture in the local vernacular. UNESCO considers the town in need of protection because the future of its traditional economic underpinnings, the Atlantic fishery, is now very uncertain.

Over the years port activities transitioned from coastal trade and local mixed fisheries to offshore fisheries.
