Right now I would change my vote to the SERK air filter lid.

#1 Choice - SERK3

go with the SERK

So the SERK lid is gaining some traction  [smiley=drink.gif] .  Do have to thank Hoist for the suggestion as I'd not thought of it at all.  Never really had paid much attention to it in that level of detail.

If something can be done with the center emblem it really is my #1 option right now.  Just a center bolt so mounting is not even a consideration and I really do like the look.

The shared sentiments generally expressed above of losing the football (for better view) and staying all or primarily chrome are what I'm looking for.  May have to keep an eye out on eBay for one of those five hole center emblems (they're freaking expensive new) and then take it to a dealership with a SERK on the floor and see how it will fit for sure.

Still considering some of the other options too.  Just have to wait and see a bit longer.  In the mean time the center emblem is what is on the bike currently.  I'll get by until something more permanent gets decided on.

Hey! Don
Sorry I got this all started, It just wouldn't be fun if when you finished the heads, and everybody said Wow! they look great I wouldn't do a thing More!! That just happen on this site. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Don

It's ok Don.  I've certainly learned more about air cleaner options than I ever thought I needed to know!  And if a cover option can really make things "POP" even more I guess it's worth chasing down some.  But you're right man, this entire group has a hard time just leaving things alone  ;D .

Thanks Neal.  That and a couple of other custom engraving sites were places I'd bookmarked last night while considering alternatives.  Having that as an option significantly opens up the alternatives as the Flying Wheel option from Harley is about the only five hold lid they have outside the military series.

Bill, the Harley chromed backplate won't work with the Zippers intake.  Need to use their air cleaner ass'y with their intake.  The other backplate and the other more attractive breather hardware would have looked much better but aren't an option.  I agree with you that the little OE lid looks pretty good by itself. In fact that's what I've left on for now.  Just don't want the open element when it comes time to hit the road on longer trips.

Can you chrome the existing parts?  Since you may have time...

i really like the simplicity of Grover's...really allows for the WOW factor of the diamond cut...only more so with the powdercoating...
