I FORGOT :doh: to take pictures today....
I had gone to Autozone and picked up two of their tools on the "LOAN PROGRAM" .... you get the tool, they put it on your CC, and then REFUND it when you bring the tool back.
I picked up the Pilot Bearing Puller (#27059)
http://www.autozone.com/Ntt,pilot%20bearing%20puller/shopping/allResults.htmand the Slide Hammer (my store had the part #27026 ... but on the website it's #2733)
http://www.autozone.com/Ntt,slide%20hamer/shopping/allResults.htmI used these to remove the INA inner cam bearing.
I had to make two attempts at it .... the first time I didn't have the bearing puller seated well enough behind the bearing, or didn't have it spread apart tight enough to hold it's position. So when I hit it about 4 times with the slide hammer it just pulled back through the bearing.
On the second attempt .... no problems.... took about 5 or 6 light wacks with the hammer and it came right out.
The fingers didn't get quite all the way behind the bearing so it caused some damage to the race on the back side of the bearing ......... no big deal, it was headed for the trash can anyways.
It is COLD out in the garage ..... I won't be working on it again until Sat or Sun when it warms up again .....
I should have my cylinders and pistons back from the Indy by the end of the week, and ready to start putting her together in the front part of next week
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
