Im not sure if the luster would be lost on the new 07s or not ...but my 03 SERK has not lost its luster ... to me at least.

.....I'm happy with my  [smiley=pumpkin.gif]. I don't care how many more CVOs the MOCO produces.  I understand it's not "exclusive/limited" regardless of what the MOCO might allude to in its advertising... it's "Custom Vehicle Operations" not "One of a Kind Operations".  They look good. They satisfy their owners.  They are 'custom'.  And, quite frankly, it's fun to see another one like mine... you feel a 'kinship' to that person, whether or not you know them personally.  (I really feel the same for any CVO I see, many thanks to this forum)........... ain't lost its LUSTer for me.

I agree, and feel the same way about my [smiley=pumpkin.gif] and others I meet on CVO's. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Has the CVO Moniker lost it's Luster?
I voted Yes originally, but I'm changing to NO.

I'm happy with my  [smiley=pumpkin.gif]. I don't care how many more CVOs the MOCO produces.  I understand it's not "exclusive/limited" regardless of what the MOCO might allude to in its advertising... it's "Custom Vehicle Operations" not "One of a Kind Operations".  They look good. Maybe they don't 'stand out' quite as much as they used to, since there are more of them around.  If 'stand out' is what you're looking for, ride naked. You'll be noticed, and exclusive (or not). ;D

So, I'm changing my vote from yes to NO!... ain't lost its LUSTer for me.

Garz

Oh yeah, now that's what I'm talking about. A sense of belonging, a kinship...
and yes GARZ, it takes a big man to change his vote and a bigger man to let him. Go for it!

Funny you mention that have you ever found yourself leaving an event/place/etc and saw another CVO entering and turned around and gone back in to meet this person? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I stopped by the HD dealer in Miami yesterday to purchase a pair of boots and the service advisor who has taken car my bikes for several years told me.....Jorge follow me....I followed him and in the back of the shop there were 2 CVO '07 (1 CUSE & 1 SERK), just out of the crate.....I admired them, I checked everything, the new goodies, etc...

I got back home and I took my CUSE '06 out of the garage to wash it.....and more I cleaned it more proud and happy was to have it...gave thanks to GOD gor giving the opportunity to enjoy that beautiful beast in past rides and too many more coming [smiley=drink.gif]........so for me, my CVO has not lost it's luster!! Lets face it...we have all talked to non-Harley educated people and told them that our bike is a "Screamin Eagle" bike and it is limited production...they all have the same blank stare...Thinking: It's a Harley and it costs alot...they all do! Yet, pull into a dealer or event where Harleys are known, our bikes gather a crowd..some curious, some scornfull (Jealous), some just checking out a bike alot of them have heard of and never seen.

Having said that, I bought my bike (and convinced my wife) that the CVO came with all of the parts I wanted and more (Not true, I contracted OCD from Fired00d) and that when we added the extras onto a "regular" Ultra, we came out even, maybe a little ahead?

I love my bike!! I am not impressed with the 07 colors for the cuse, but the 07 Blue SERK really turned my head and got my heart racing...I guess the bottom line is this, The luster on the CVO moniker is there because we put it there..as long as we think our bikes are special and treat them as such, as long as sites like this scream the virtues of the CVO bike...they will retain their luster! We get to bitchin about the issues with our rides and complaining about the problems we have...Easy to do because we are all on a level playing field. Try bitchin about the 110" motor for 07 Screamin Eagles to a guy who plunked down all he has to buy a Sportster. I forget all of the complaints and problems when someone comes up to me and says "Nice bike, Screamin Eagle?, WOW, wish I could have one of those... [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thats my luster!! [smiley=soapbox.gif]

I was looking in the SEEG section, and saw the poll at the top about Satisfaction with bike, and I was actually pleasantly impressed with the numbers.  Seems like we have a lot of very satisfied owners - and so would make the leap to believe that these owners don't believe the moniker has lost it's luster for them.   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
