If the MoCo is reading this post, they know the Marketing Departments Programs are working, in most cases.
Yes the MoCo Marketing Programs are Working - That's why they make all those different models

To me right now I can honestly say my next Harley, will probably be my favorite as there will be lots of new bling added
I've owned 9 Harley's and every new one I get I like it a little bit more than the previous Harley
That's not to say I wouldn't mind still owning all 9 of them but I choose to update my scooters every couple of years

Doing a google search for something not related - one of the results was

What is the most popular CVO for the Money?

actually, there were a lot of results pointing to this site, one of them being my own homepage.

Kind of surprised me.

RE: altering the poll.  The early and later Road Kings really are markedly different bikes.  Different engines and other things.  That's why it seemed prudent to list them separately.  For any finally tally all the Road Kingers will of course combine the total for greater impact.  But I was curious how much distinction there would be.

As for "mine" as an option was actually curious to see how many would distinguish their own machine from everything else of the same model.  More a question as to how many claimed or felt individuality above specific model association.

The thing that has really surprised me (so far anyway) is zero responses to the last option.  No one has cast a vote simply be able to see what the running totals looks like.  It seems there's always someone who doesn't have an opinion or doesn't want to share it, but who still wants to see what's going on.  Here, however, everyone has an opinion and is proud or happy (or both) to proclaim it.  That's actually very interesting in and of itself (and pretty cool too).

Wow, great responses. Thanks. I liked the pecker analogy a lot. One last question from me: How much does the fairing take out of the "fun factor" for touring? I want to be riding a bike, not a two wheeled car. Is an ultra still a load of fun to ride?

When Abraham Lincoln was asked how tall a man should be, he answered "just tall enough to reach the ground". Maybe its the same with the size of bikes and  peckers - just big enough to reach the ground.

I actually think it put the fun factor back into riding for me. I came from riding a Fatboy w/no windshield and never thought I'd own a bike w/a windshield more less a fairing. However I can now ride all day protected behind the fairing with a short enough windshield to still feel the breeze, but my body isn't taking the beating of fighting the wind all day long. Once I arrive at my destination I still have energy left to go out and have a good time. I can remember riding all day on the Fatboy getting to destination and all I wanted to do was go take a nap because of fighting the wind the entire ride. So for me it has put the "enjoyable" factor back in the ride and the "fun" factor back into it for when I arrive. Nothing worse then getting to a rally and be all wore out the first night and have to waste it staying in room getting some sleep. ;)

Answer to original q: The Pumpkin, because of it's OSHA-orange visibility! Of course, there's always the off-chance of being mistaken for a traffic barrel. (Same with "the pecker", I suppose.)
With the SEEG I do miss seeing the road zooming past the front tire, but that's it. My SEEG is a great touring bike, and handles perfectly in tight quarters.  [size=10]There are times when I wouldn't mind having a bar-hopper, though (off-topic).[/size]

This is a great thread and poll! But I must say the poll confused me! As I was going down I see SEEG. I make my vote....then I see Mine (The one I have now). :-/ Now, mine IS a SEEG so do I change my vote now? I would be willing to bet everyone that's voting on "Mine" owns an SE Electra Glide! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]                                   JR

I thought the same thing and I'm betting that you're right JR.  Most of those that are voting in the "Mine (the one you have now)" are probably riding the SEEG.  As it is, just to be certain, I just voted for the SEEG.

I have had a  SEEG and SEUC.  The SEUC is the best looking and best equipped CVO, but the SEEG is the best riding CVO [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

The best touring bike hands down is a Road Glide. Screamin Eagle or otherwise. 2000, 2001 SERG in two colors each year. 2000-Black/white/orange, Maroon/red/black,2001--- Blue/white/black , Gray/black/white all with factory 95" motors. I have an 03 SERK, had a 00 SERG, ride Beagle's 05 SEEG whenever I want and have my own wanabee 2007 seRG and there's no debate guys and girls. You wanna pile up the miles in comfort, buy a Road Glide

Amen.  May very well have to keep this one for a long time.  Even without their having been big labor bills it's still been a continuing labor of love.  Definitely a member of the family now  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

I gotta agree with BB,  the Road Glide is THE best "over the road bike ever made".  The fairing mounted to the frame (although 'strange' to get used too) is with out a doubt the best long ride bike ever made (this is coming from a long time Electraglide guy).  Only problem is.......getting used to it around town.....I still can't get used to it in the city.....

Question is coming from someone that's almost never ridden a Road Glide and had completely never ridden one at night.  What's it like making corners or curves in the dark?  Does the headlight lag behind the turn?

That's what always had seemed odd to me about that setup. You'd think you'd be well into/almost out of a curve before the light caught up. [smiley=confused5.gif] I guess this doesn't make to much difference in a lean, but when you actually doing slow speed turn it just seems awkward.
