Got my new J&S lift in a couple of days of ordering and tried it out yesterday.
I ordered the extra cost "Big Wheel" version. The wheels are a different material, bigger and have grease-able axles, Jim at J&S promised me it would roll easy with the big bike.
First problem I had, it rolls so easy it rolls around my slightly uneven garage floor!
I was able to get under the bike with only the slightest "push" with the bike sitting on the kick stand. No juggling required.
Anyone want to buy a pair of 2x6 angled ramps with non skid on the bottom with matching kickstand block?
It jacks easy, I was able to move the bike around driveway, which is concrete and had seen better days thanks the previous owners use of salt.
There are two bolts in the rear frame of the jack, which I assume are to lock the jack to the floor, although the bolts on mine are not long enough to do anything.
The jack is very wide compared to others which is probably why it is so stable. No guessing where to put the rails on the SEEG for even jacking either, just slide the jack with the rear rail in the frame cross member.
The bike lowers very smoothly. That is the one thing I really disliked about the Sears jack.
I also ordered the oil drain pan
http://www.jsjacks.com/accessories.htmAt first glance when removing it from the box I thought it was kind of expensive for the what it is, a piece of stamped steel.
But it fit nicely on the jack and seems as though it will catch all the oil and spill all the oil into a pan rather then in, on the sides, on the jack and on my floor.
The pan looks like it could use some additional length on one side but I haven't drained the oil yet to try. When the bike comes back from the dealer I will do an oil change and I will give it a try.
It certainly isn't the cheapest or most expensive jack, but it is everything they advertise it to be and I like it, and they give members of this site a discount. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
If you already have a jack that you aren't very happy with but hesitated buying another because it seemed like a waste of cash .... like others have said , we're talking 30K bikes here.
Besides, is there anyone here who has not bought something for their bike and then never used it or took it off after trying the item?
