Well okay maybe most of it's the truth. ::) I found that the drug companies seem to have a way of, shall I say, pushing their own agendas when it comes to keeping all of us taking pills. I had a tough time trying to find objective answers to even the simple questions I had.

Chit! You're in NYC, I know they might have one or two great hospitals near you! ;)

That's exactly what's bugging me Ed. I'm a regular now in that office now! Do I really need to be? I feel fine! That's what's so frustrating about this. I'm fine. We're medicating for something that might happen, even if it doesn't ever happen! Gotta be a better way! ;) Hoist! 8)

Crikey!  Is it really better livin through modern chemistry or just helping drug companies fatten up and we all know how hard a good wrench spinner is to find never mind a cutter the lay up after getting cracked.   I don't cotton to pills neither, unless they are the happy kind you take with beer...

I have buds that have been re tubed and turned it over fine, this sounds different bro.
A little more serious than fitting cams....never mind the re-tune....Head long into the wind with no regrets other than no action at all laddie.

Interesting perspective miker. Thanks. That's the part that scares the chit out of me too for that exact reason. We know best that there are parts changers vs. technicians, bumble fingers vs. craftsmen, etc. So how do I find the talented, craftsmen technician? ;) Hoist! 8)

I hear ya, I think you're on the right track. Lay all the cards on the table first and then do what works for youself and Binx. I know you'll make the right decision.  :2vrolijk_21:

Howie,
The surgeon that worked on me was at Mass General in Boston. He had worked on my GP. My GP told me he was the best at what I needed done and he was right. I guess I'm saying that if he was good enough to operate on my doctor it was a good referral for me. Like you, I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions.

I've been using my Dr. for a few years now as a PCP. She's a Johns Hopkins Graduate, had great credentials, and happens to be a cardiologist. So she caught this quickly from the stress test. But I think I'll take Jon's advice and after I meet with her, find a good cardiothoracic surgeon to get a second opinion. And a third and fourth if necessary, until I'm convinced I've discovered all my options and then be comfortable with whatever decision I make! ;) Hoist! 8)

Homework man...homework...You have time to mull it over I guess...What a choice. Liquify yer guts to make the black spot better(?)(maybe its like taking your flinstones every day and it does work, who knows), or getting the chite beat outta you, make it out of the sick house without some nasty infunction or extra metal left inya only to get run over by a cellphone wielding yuppie....What a choice.  Stand down awhile and think on it long and hard...Best wishes. Sincerely.

Hey Hoist for what it's worth, I was on the coumadin for a year after a heart procedure I had to get done and it wasn't bad at all.  Sure there is a risk but I decided I'm going to continue living the way I live and then deal with what comes along.  I ride about 20K miles a year and I too like to go fast.  I also have a crotch rocket that I do trackdays on a few times a year, and I continued to do that too.  I figure one just has to work with the hand one's dealt.  During my coumadin days, I had to go in once a month to get a quick pin prick to determine what the "thinness" of my blood was then adjust the "size" of the pill I took.  After a few visits, the dosage stabilized and I just cruised along.  It was no big deal.  I cut myself a couple of times wrenching and it wasn't a huge problem.  I was a little more cautious that's all.  I agree with the good folks here that you should find a doctor you feel comfortable with and stick with the plan.  I'm pulling for you brother.

Thank you Karl! That's the regimen I'm following right now. But it's the only long term solution that was presented to me. I'm exploring all my options. A heart transplant at this time is not one I'd consider. But a surgical repair is one I would consider! Great outlook you have and I feel exactly the same way! :2vrolijk_21:
